Women Karate Championship begins

The 10th National Women Karate Championship has been started here at Gymnasium Hall of Nishter Park Sports Complex, here on Tuesday. Teams from all the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation ie, Army, Wapda, Railways, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad and FATA are participating in this championship. The event was inaugurated by Mohammad Parvez Malik MNA who said on the occasion that the government was paying attention to promote sports.
On the opening day, in the above 68-kg category, Qurat ul Ain from Wapda won the gold medal. In Individual Karate event, gold medal was won by Shahida from Wapda.
