ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Wednesday accorded approval for transfer and posting of various high ranking officials in Sindh in order to hold free, fair and transparent elections.

According to an ECP official, transfer and posting of proposed 14 secretaries, two additional inspectors of general (AIGs) of police, six commissioners, 33 deputy commissioners, 14 deputy inspectors general (DIGs) of police and various senior superintendents of police (SSPs) in the province have been approved.

Secretary School Education and Literacy Department Iqbal Hussain Durrani, Secretary Provincial Ombudsman (Mohtasib) Secretariat Iqbal Nafees Khan, Director General (Monitoring and Evaluation) School Education and Literacy Department Khalid Haider Shah, Secretary Social Welfare Department Alia Shahid, Secretary Women Development Department Haroon Ahmed Khan, Member Sindh Revenue Board Noor Alam Khan, Special Secretary Chief Minister’s (CM) Secretariat Abdul Rahim Shaikh, Secretary Home Department Kazi Shahid Pervaiz, Secretary Commerce and Industry Department Aijaz Ahmed Mahesar, Commissioner Sukkur Division Dr Muhammad Usman Chachar, Secretary CM’s Secretariat Rafiq Buriro, Programme Director Sindh Basic Education Programme Management and Implementation Unit, School Education and Literacy Department Abdul Wahab Soomro, Secretary Health Department Fazal Ullah Pechuho and posting awaiting Muhammad Nawaz Shaikh were transferred to Senior Member Sindh Revenue Board, Chairman Enquiries and Anti-Corruption Establishment, Sindh, Secretary Local Government and Housing Town Planning Department, Secretary School Education and Literacy Department, Secretary Home Department, Secretary Finance Department, Secretary Works and Services Department, Secretary Information and Archives Department, Secretary Excise and Taxation Department, Secretary Health Department, Secretary Mines and Mineral Development Department,  Member (Land Utilization) Board of Revenue Sindh, Secretary Livestock and Fisheries Department and Secretary Food Department, respectively, the official said.

Similarly, Principal Secretary to Governor Sindh Muhammad Sualeh Ahmad Faruqi, Secretary (GA) SGA&CD Zulifqar Ali Shah, Secretary Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource, Research and Development Board Naveed Ahmad Shaikh, Member Board of Revenue Sindh Manzoor Ali Shaikh , Secretary Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ahsam Ali Mangi, Special Secretary Health Department Akram Ali Khowaja were proposed to be posted as Commissioner Karachi Division, Commissioner Mirpurkhas Division, Commissioner Larkana Division, Commissioner Sukkur Division, Commissioner Hyderabad Division and Commissioner Shaheed Banzirabad, respectively, he added.

The official said Additional Inspector General (AIG) Sindh Dr Aftab Ahmed Pathan and Dr Amir Ahmed Shaikh AIG Crime Branch were proposed to be transferred against the posts of AIG Training and Establishment and AIG Finance and Welfare, respectively.
