Promotion of sports activities vital for establishment of healthy society: President

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday said that alongside education, the promotion of sports activities was also very important for the establishment of a healthy society.

He expressed these views during a meeting with the Pakistani Street Child Football team which secured second position in the Street Child Football World Cup and the office bearers of the “Muslim Hands”, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The President said that these children through their excellent performance in the Street Child Football World Cup had brought good name to Pakistan in the world. He expressed his confidence that this trend would continue successfully in the future as well.

The President advised the young players to always keep high the spirit of success and bring good name to the country whenever they participate in a sports competition.

He said since every child had the right to education and health, the institutions working towards this end deserved appreciation.

The President on this occasion also gave away cash awards to all the players for their excellent performance in the Street Child Football World Cup.
