ECP selects Allauddin Marri as caretaker CM of Balochistan

All four provinces now have the interim caretaker chief ministers (CM), as the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has finally selected Allauddin Marri as the caretaker CM of Balochistan.
ECP Additional Secretary Akhtar Nazir made the announcement at a press conference outside the commission’s office in Islamabad. Marri belongs to Mastung district of Balochistan and his name was recommended by the government.
The government had recommended Marri's and Sardar Shoukat Popalzai for the caretaker CM, whereas the opposition had suggested Mohammad Aslam Bhutani and Ashraf Jahangir Qazi for the post of caretaker CM, local media reported.
The ECP made the final decision on the matter after a parliamentary committee failed to form a consensus between the Balochistan government and opposition. With this recent appointment, all four provinces have now a caretaker CM as Balochistan was the only remaining province to get the interim CM.
