KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair here on Wednesday said that the minority communities in the country can play a vital role in the national polls scheduled for July 25 this year.

Talking to a 14-member of delegation of Christian citizens from Karachi, led by Father Edward Joseph, he said the forthcoming elections are extremely important and that grave responsibilities lie upon each and every citizen of the country to elect their representatives most judiciously.

"The contenders also need to rise above their party as well as individual interests and keep into consideration future on the country along with its inhabitants," he said emphasizing that contestants must accept the results with all dignity.

The delegation that also included Pastor Amir Farooq, Pastor Club Boots, Pastor Robin, Afzal Bhatti and others shared with the governor the civic problems being faced by the community members in the metropolis.

The Governor of Sindh paying glowing tributes to the community for their contribution in the education and health sectors of the country said with considerably high literacy levels the members could play crucial role in the national politics.

"A collective approach is needed to promote democratic culture in the country," he said political parties in any democratic set-up not only accept the public will reflected through election results but also extend their cooperation to the winning parties in the larger national interest.
