KARACHI: Six ships, MSC Al-Ghero, Maersk Memphis, Express Suez, Al-Thakhiras, Hydroussa and Cape Troy carrying containers, LNC, Palm oil and Furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile three more ships, MCL Generosity, Bunga Lilaca and Stahla carrying Containers, Chemicals and Soya Bean Seeds also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
A total of eleven ships namely, MSC Al-Ghero, Maersk Maersk Memphis, Express Suez, Yuan Jing, Valadon, Navios Centrarus, Royal Princes, Genaro Levoli, Al-Thakhiras, Hydroussa, and Cape Troy are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Canola Seeds, Soya Bean Seeds, Bitumen, Chemicals, LNG Palm oil and Furnace oil respectively.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 149,459 tonnes, comprising 123,505 tonnes import cargo and 25,954 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,450 Containers (TEUs) (2,084 TEUs imports and 1,366 TEUs exports) was handled at the port.
Container Vessel Express Suez sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while another ship Genaro Levoli is expected to sail on same day in the afternoon. Three ships, MOL Generosity, Gas Puffin and Bunga Lilac carrying Containers, LPG and Chemicals are expected to take berths at QICT, SSGC and EVTL respectively on Wednesday.
