LAHORE: Like other parts of the Muslim World, the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (RA) will be observed with religious fervour here on Wednesday.
To mark the day, various programmes have been chalked out, wherein ulema and scholars will shed light on the life and services of Hazrat Ali (RA) for Islam. In this regard, the central procession will be taken out from Imambargah Mubarak Haveli, inside Akbari Mandi, which will reach its destination Gamey Shah after passing through its traditional route.
The police and other law-enforcement agencies have finalized foolproof security arrangements to cope with any untoward incident in the provincial capital. Snipers would be deployed on rooftops along the route of main procession.
Special control room has been set up in the CCPO office, whereas bomb disposal squad would perform technical sweeping on the occasion of gathering. Police teams will conduct search operations in their respective areas while patrolling would also be enhanced. Meanwhile, PTV, Radio Pakistan and all private channels will broadcast special programmes to mark the day.
