PML-N govt spends billions for energy projects to address loadshedding across country: Baligh
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Baligh ur Rehman on Thursday said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), government had spent billions of rupees for many energy projects to address the issue of loadshedding across the country.
A huge amount had been spent to bring improvement in the transmission lines, he said while talking to a private news channel. The demand of electricity was rising in the country, he said adding that efforts were made to bring zero level loadshedding.
The present government was going to complete its constitutional tenure today and the next elections would be held within 60 days period, he said.
To a question, he said the federal government does not hold the right to postpone the general elections. It was strange that Balochistan assembly had passed the resolution for postponing the general elections in the province, Baligh ur Rehman said.
Conducting elections on time was imperative for continuity of democratic system, he said. Replying to a question he said that the PML-N government during the period of last five years, had brought improvement in the economy, education and energy sectors.
