ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court (AC) of Islamabad Wednesday recorded the statement of NAB Investigation Officer (IO) Imran Dogar in the Avenfield property reference.

AC Judge Muhammad Bashir heard the Avenfield property reference against the Sharif family members filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

During the course of proceedings, Dogar informed the court that Sidra Mansoor of Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) shared audit record related to the Hudaibiya Paper Mills with the investigators.

He said Shakeel Anjum, Mazhar Raza Bangush, Tariq Shafi and Mossa Ghani were also included in the investigation process.

Dogar said the London property was purchased through offshore companies in someone else name to hide ownership.

The NAB officer claimed that the accused had failed to prove their source of income for purchasing the property.

Defence counsel Khawaja Harris objected that the statement of investigation officer was based on an opinion.

Earlier, Haris also informed the court that his client Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz could not reach Islamabad due to inclement weather in Lahore.

The court adjourned the case till May 3, when Khawaja Haris will continue cross-examination of Imran Dogar.
