HYDERABAD: Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Sial informed that Sindh Government has adopted strict security measures in order to ensure law and order during three day annual Urs celebrations of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar at Sehwan.

The security has been beefed up in Sehwan in view of the recent acts of terrorism in Quetta, the minister said while addressing the media persons at the reception hosted in his hounour by Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry here at SITE Hyderabad on Wednesday.

The Minister said that overall law and order situation in the province has brought under control as the Sindh Police has proved the ability of maintaining peace in every situation. The government has also finalised comprehensive plan of maintaining law and order situation during the month of Ramzan-ul-Mubarak and at the time of holding of general elections 2018, he added.

Responding to a question, the minister dispelled the impressions that provincial government has written any letter to Prime Minister for replacement of IGP Sindh A.D. Khawaja. The government has no intention to take such initiative till completion of his tenure, he maintained.

Expressing performance of the Police in the province, the minister said that 1,26,000 policemen have been engaged in maintaining law and order in the province. The police personnel are performing their duties under strict check and balance, he added.

Earlier, addressing the reception, the minister said that the government fully desired to boost up the industrial growth of the province and has initiated numbers of measures in this direction. Despite limited resources, the government is providing maximum facilities to industrial areas of the province, he added.

The minister assured the provision of due security in the industrial zones of the province with provision of Police Emergency 15 and provision of police mobile units for maintenance of law and order.

Earlier, Chairman Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry Saman Mal in his welcome address highlighted the issues being faced by the industrialists of the province particularly SITE Hyderabad.

The reception was also attended by the representatives of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Hyderabad Chamber of Small Trade and Small Industry. The DIG Hyderabad Javed Alam Odho and SSP Hyderabad Syed Pir Muhammad Shah accompanied the Home Minister.
