Nawaz urges nation to pray for his ailing wife

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Saturday appealed to the nation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supreme leader Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Saturday appealed to the nation to pray for his ailing wife Begum Kalsoom Nawaz, who was under treatment in a London hospital.

Talking to media persons in London, the former prime minister said he would not leave Pakistan irrespective of any circumstances. There was a lot of difference between him and Pervez Musharraf, which was being witnessed by the entire nation, he added.

Nawaz Sharif said none of the cases filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against him pertained to corruption, embezzlement or kick-backs. Such a case had not been registered by NAB in the past, and despite of all that he was regularly appearing before the courts.

Such circumstances before the next general election raised questions about holding the same in a free, fair and transparent manner. A level playing field should be ensured to all political parties, including the PML-N, he added.

He asked the people to vote for the PML-N in the general election considering it a referendum. All other political parties, he added, were waiting for the "empire's finger".

It was evident from the fact that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had voted for the candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party in the Senate election and the PTI chief Imran Khan should be question for that, he said.
