Afzal urges political parties to play role under democratic system

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Thursday urged the political parties to play role under a democratic system.
Despite challenges, people voted for Nawaz Sharif and thrice elected him as prime minister of Pakistan, he said while talking to a private news channel.
Commenting on Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf chief's action against some Senators who sold their votes to other party, he said due to this activity, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa assembly could have been dissolved with no-confidence move.
He said those party members who joined the other political groups for personal gains, were not committed or loyal to their leaders and ideology.
To a question, he said Javed Hashmi had rejoined the PML-N due to his long affiliation with the party.
Giving example of India, he said due to consistency in the democratic system, hereditary politics in the neighboring country had been finished.
To a question about incident of toppling the Balochistan assembly before Senate elections, he said leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), still had reservation over the issue.
To a question he said Chaudhry Nisar the senior leader of his party, was not going anywhere.
