KARACHI: BRINDEX-30 closed on the lower side on Thursday at 25,844.88 points with a negative change of -88.03 and volume of 162,058,500 shares. High and Low were 25,997.69 and 25,763.54 respectively. Of 30 companies traded, 10 were up, 19 were down and 1 was unchanged.

Total volume traded in the market was 332,906,600 shares. Total companies traded were 400 of which 161 were positive, 219 were negative and 20 were unchanged.

Chemicals was the top traded sector with total traded volume of 57,831,190 shares. It was followed by Power Generation and Distribution with a total traded volume of 49,029,000 shares.

The three top traded companies were K-Electric Limited with a volume of 47,541,000 and price per share of 7.06 (0.19), Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited with a volume of 23,866,000 and price per share of 39.91 (1.63), Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (A) with a volume of 21,784,000 and price per share of 5.64 (0.33).

The top three advancers were Bata Pakistan Limited with a volume of 1,020 and price per share of 2,866.67 (51.67), Pakistan Tobacco Company Limited with a volume of 2,520 and price per share of 1,900 (45.00), Island Textile Mills Limited with a volume of 50 and price per share of 923.89 (43.99).

The top three decliners were Nestle Pakistan Limited with a volume of 40 and price per share of 12,511 (-339.00), Pakistan Services Limited with a volume of 50 and price per share of 940.50 (-49.50), Colgate-Palmolive (Pakistan) Limited with a volume of 240 and price per share of 2,851 (-49.01).
