BAHAWALPUR: Pakistan Peoples' Party Bahawalpur chapter's leaders Tuesday paid tributes to founder of the party, late, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto as saying it was ZAB who launched Pakistan's atomic programe.
A ceremony to mark 39th death anniversary was held here. The ceremony was organized by PPP Bahawalpur and attended by the party's leaders and activists.
Addressing the ceremony, PPP Bahawalpur leaders including Shakir Mirza, Nawabzadi Saira Abbasi and others said that their leaders, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was Shaheed of democracy and added that credit went to ZAB for initiating Pakistan's atomic programme.
"It was ZAB who made Pakistan, an atomic power," they said.
They said that PPP would continue policies to strengthen democracy in the country.
"The bright future of the county links with smooth flourishing of democracy," they said.
They said that PPP had still been enjoying status of most popular and largest political party of the country.
