KARACHI: Governor of Sindh, Muhammad Zubair here on Monday felicitated the newly elected office bearers of All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) for assuming their fresh responsibilities with the hope that this will largely benefit the concerned stakeholders.
In a message issued by the spokesman of Sindh Governor House, Muhammad Zubair said Hameed Haroon, the incumbent president of APNS and his team comprising Kazi Asad Abid and Mehtab Khan (senior vice presidents), Sarmad Ali (secretary general), Bilal Mahmood (joint secretary), Wasim Ahmed (finance secretary) and others will also efficiently help resolve problems faced by newspaper industry.
Besides meeting the challenge of constantly changing technology APNS also has to play an efficient role in ensuring press freedom and promotion of democracy crucial for any society, Sindh Governor was quoted to had communicated in his message.
It was emphasized that newspaper and other sections of media need to exercise their influence in strengthening democratic values and institutions.
