CHICAGO: Chicago Board of Trade wheat futures ticked higher on Wednesday, following a steeper climb in K.C. wheat prices as drought threatened the wheat crop in the top-growing state of Kansas, traders said.
Yield prospects were dimming for winter wheat in the breadbasket of the southern US Plains, where the crop is emerging from dormancy and requiring moisture at a time when much of the region is gripped by drought.
MGEX spring wheat prices were lower.
The CME Group reported three deliveries against CBOT March wheat.
