ISE index surges by 78.5 points

Equities moved both ways on the Islamabad Stock Exchange (ISE) where investors adopted a cautious approach under the lead of hot favourite amid increase in index. ISE Ten Index showed an improvement of 78.5 points as the ISE Ten Index moved from 2931.22 to 3009.72 points. The overall turnover amounted to 181,500 shares as compared to previous volume of 13,700 shares.
Total 132 companies participated in buying and selling activity. Majority of stocks (84) closed in positive territory, 48 closed in negative territory, whereas no company remained pegged to its overnight levels. The volume of Maple Leaf Cement was 110,000 shares. The volume of Fauji Cement Co Ltd was 70,000 shares. The volume of DG Khan Cement was 1,500 shares.
