SC grants Talal a week to hire counsel

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court Tuesday granted State Minister for Interior Talal Chaudhry a week to hire the counsel in contempt of the court case.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan comprising Justice Maqbool Baqar and Justice Faisal Arab resumed hearing on contempt of the court case against Talal Chaudhry.
During the course of proceedings, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry appeared before the bench and informed that his lawyer Asma Jahangir had died, therefore the court should give him more time to hire another lawyer.
The court accepted his plea and gave him a week to hire new counsel and adjourned the hearing till February 19.
