Sindh Govt increases PhD allowance for the university teachers

HYDERABAD: The Sindh Government has increased the allowance paid to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) qualified teachers of the public sector universities by 150 percent.

According to a notification issued by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah on other day, the allowance has been more than doubled from Rs. 10,000 per month to Rs. 25,000 per month.

All the university teachers with PhD degrees would be eligible for the allowance, it added.

The Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA) Sindh chapter in its January 31 meeting with the CM had demanded a raise in the allowances among other demands.
