KARACHI: The Second Gems Bazaar will be held here at Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), on February 23 and 24, to promote excavation, manufacturing and export of precious and semi precious gem stones of Pakistan, which are very popular in the world.
The timing will be from 11:00a.m. to 7:00p.m. of the bazaar. More than forty stalls of gem and jewellery products from different areas of the country including Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan are scheduled to be set up.
The exhibition is being organized by the All Pakistan Gems Merchants and Jewelers Association (APGMJA) in collaboration with the FPCCI and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan.
Diplomats from various countries, business and political figures are expected to visit the gem bazaar, besides large number of gem and jewellery lovers.
Federal Secretary for Commerce Muhammad Younas Dagha will inaugurate the event, Kashif-ur-Rehman, Chairman, APGMJA Committee on Exhibitions, Media and Coordination told APP.
Pearls, precious and semi precious stones, loose gems, designer jewellery, silver jewellery and beads string would be exhibited, he said.
Such bazaars/expos would be held in Lahore and Islamabad as well, with the objective of promoting gems and jewellery industry from mining of precious stones to export of the jewellery through exploration of new markets in the world.
Hence, gems merchants and jewellery manufactures would have an opportunity for direct interaction with each other through B2B and B2C meetings, he said.
He informed that APGMJA had also held very successful two-day gems and jewellery bazaar here in December 2017.
He said that the gems merchants and jewelers had started holding such events after restoration of law and order in the country, especially in Karachi and Balochistan.
