SANTIAGO: Chile's consumer price index rose 0.5 percent in January, above market expectations for 0.27 percent, the government said on Thursday.
Inflation in the last 12 months was 2.2 percent, remaining at the low end of the central bank's target range of 2 percent to 4 percent.
Core inflation was 0.3 percent in January, the government said.
