Newly-appointed LHC judge takes oath

A newly-appointed additional judge of the Lahore High Court (LHC), Justice Ali Baqir Najfi on Monday took oath of his office. LHC Chief Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed administered oath to new judge in a ceremony at the LHC judges' lounge. LHC judges, federal and provincial law officers, Lahore High Court Bar Association office-bearers, families of judges and a large number of senior lawyers attended the ceremony.
President Asif Ali Zardari appointed the additional judge, on recommendations of the parliamentary committee and judicial commission, for a period of one year. After the induction, the strength of the LHC judges has become 40.
