Defence Secretary Nargis Sethi on Monday agreed to a pay raise for employees of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) by 20-25 percent. The Defence Secretary amicably resolved all the issues of the employees during eight-hour long negotiations with the office bearers of union of Pakistan International Airlines.
The two sides agreed to a pay raise of 25 percent for employees for scale group 1-6 and 20 percent raise for officers of 7-11 scale group with effect from January, 2012. Nargis Sethi assured that other problems of PIA employees would also be resolved. She called upon the employees to work together for the progress of the national flag career and said the government would take care of their needs. She also resolved various issues of air traffic control department.
