The Karachi Port handled 32,305 tonnes of cargo comprising1 11,332 tonnes of import cargo and 20,973 tonnes of export cargo including 1,206 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 11,332 tonnes comprised of 4,203 tonnes of containerised cargo; 334 tonnes of general cargo; 6,795 tonnes of bulk cargo: 2,428 tonnes of palm kernel expeller; 101 tonnes of urea and 4,266 tonnes of rock phosphate.
The total export cargo of 20,973 tonnes comprised of 7,923 tonnes of containerised cargo; 130 tonnes of general cargo; 1,831 tonnes of bulk cargo: 481 tonnes of cement; 1,350 tonnes of talcum powder and 11,089 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely APL Brisbane, Cap Verde, Gourniati and Malaspine Castle carrying two container ships, one urea carrier and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Four vessels viz Hellenic Horizon, Cathrina, Chem World and Ahoora with two bulk cargo ships, one oil tanker and one general cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths.
Three ships namely Abtin-1, Ahoora and POS Freedom carrying one container ship, one general cargo ship and one rock phosphate carrier respectively sailed out to sea on Friday. Two vessels viz YM North and Abdullatif-S with one containers ship and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Friday, while two vessels viz UASC Ajman and Wan Hai-603 with two containers ships respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
Six ships namely Lt Genova, Lindavia, Hyundai Bangkok, Sea Faith, Ocean President and Bluf Cat with three containers ships, one molases ship, one coal carrier and one steel bars carrier respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 81,259 tonnes, comprising 63,409 tonnes of import cargo and 17,850 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,376 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 63,409 tonnes includes 52,636 tonnes of furnace oil and 11,046 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo includes 17,850 tonnes of containerised cargo. Three ships namely CV Belgica, CV NYK Kai and MT Omera Queen with two container ships and one furnace oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea on Friday. A total number of three vessels namely CV Belgica, CV NYK Kai and MT Omera Queen with two container ships and one furnace oil tanker respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely CMA CGM Mozart, Harsanadi, Anette Kosan, Al-Soor-II and Rapallo with containers, chemicals, diesel oil and canola seeds respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of four vessels viz CV CMA CGM Mozart, MT Harsanadi, MT Al-Soor-II and MV Rapallo with containers, chemicals, diesel oil and canola seeds respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Grain & Fertilizer Terminal (FAP) respectively on Friday.
