Pakistan Insurance Institute (PII) is organising a two-day conference on 'Catastrophe Events - A Challenge' from Wednesday (11-12) April in Karachi. The conference aims to bring on one platform of professionals from the local insurance industry, foreign speakers and delegates to discuss the role of the industry in the wake of multiple natural disasters in recent times.
With relevance to the current times, the event will highlight the challenges faced by the global insurance industry today. Internationally renowned speakers both from within and outside Pakistan will present their expert views covering climate changes, social and political dimensions of catastrophe, actuarial aspects, underwriting and risk analysis, role of brokers following disasters, catastrophe pools, and the experiences of natural disaster in the Middle East, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Dr Zafar Qadir Chairman National Disaster Management Authority will be the key note Speaker while Asif Arif Commissioner Insurance and Zafar Mahmood Commerce Secretary will be the guests of honour. The conference will also provide an opportunity for the local insurance professionals to interact with the global industry experts coming from as many as 14 countries and share with them vital international experience. At the same time foreign delegates will have the first hand opportunity to build on their knowledge of Pakistan Insurance Industry.-PR
