Efforts are further being beefed up by employing around 286 soldiers including 60 civilians along with dozers and JCB (used for digging) at the incident site for rescue operation. According to ISPR, they have so far cleared one platform measuring a 40 feet length, 30 feet wide and 10 feet deep.
Five helicopters are taking part in the operation, while heavy machinery, additional manpower including technical experts from National Disaster Management Authority and Strategic Planning Division have been moved from Islamabad via C 130. An expert team comprising three individuals from Switzerland is arriving on Monday night to assist in rescue operations. Another disaster management team comprising six individuals along with necessary equipment from Germany also arrived here.
The Chinese Embassy also expressed its grave concerns and stated that the embassy has conveyed, through the government and military leaders of Pakistan, our concerns for the safety of the buried persons, condolences for those who have lost their lives and sympathy to their families.
