The Karachi Port handled 101,053 tonnes of cargo including 89,492 tonnes of import; 11,561 tonnes of export cargo and 1,090 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 89,492 tonnes comprised of 12,325 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 7,788 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 860 tonnes of sulphur; 19,609 tonnes of coal cargo; 5,540 tonnes of rock phosphate, 1,064 tonnes of DAP and 42,306 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 11,561 tonnes comprised of 1,638 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 371 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 1,191 tonnes of cement cargo; 4,761 tonnes of rice cargo and 3,600 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. A total number of 379 loaded 20' containers and 289 loaded 40' containers are handled during the reported period. While there are 3 unloaded 20' containers and 65 unloaded 40' containers are handled during the business hours on Thursday.
A total number of five cargo vessels namely Oriental Nadeshiko, Liwa, U B C Cyprus, United and C S Discovery carrying are sail out to the sea during the business activity hours on Thursday. There are total number of five cargo vessels namely Chemway Gaia, Helsinki, Unity, Amamik and Gourniati are currently occupying the berth to load/offload oil tankers, containerised cargo, general cargo containers and bulk cargo containers respectively during the reported period of business on Thursday.
A total number of two cargo vessels namely helsinki and Amamik are expected to sail out to the sea on Thursday, while there is only one cargo vessel namely Chemway Gaia is expected to sail out to the sea on Friday. There is only one cargo vessel namely Chaiot carrying general cargo containers is expected to arrive on Thursday evening, while there are total number of seven cargo vessels namely Hellespont Crusader, Kota Akbar, APL Sokna, Parmis, APL Brisbane, OOCL Busan and Yamamah carrying base oil tankers, containerised cargo and MOL respectively are expected to arrive during at the business activity hours on Friday.
PORT QASIM Port Qasim maintained port's activities of total cargo volume of 40,507 tonnes including 29,041 tonnes of import; 11,466 tonnes of export cargo and the total number of 1,555 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) are handled during the last 24 hours of the business activity on Thursday at the port.
The total import cargo volume of 29,041 tonnes comprised of 7,852 tonnes of chemicals and 21,189 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the business activity hours of the port on Thursday. The total export cargo volume of 11,466 tonnes, comprised of 11,466 tonnes of containerised cargo is handled during the reported period of activities on Thursday.
There are only three cargo vessels namely M V Ikaruga, M V Buxhill and M V M T Yamamah carrying containerised cargo and chemical cargo respectively sailed out to the sea on Thursday morning from Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak terminals respectively.
A total number of three cargo vessels namely M V Buxhill, M V Ikaruga and M V Yamamah are currently occupying the berths to load/offload containerised cargo, and chemical cargo respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Thursday.
There are a total number of five cargo vessels namely M V ETA Gas, M V Analips, M T Karachi, M V Unity and C V CGM Chopin carrying chemicals cargo containers, diesel oil tankers, furnace oil tankers and containerised cargo respectively are currently to line up at the outer anchorage to sail out to the sea at Engro Vopak Terminals, Fotco Oil Terminals and Qasim International Terminal containers on Wednesday.
There are a total number of six cargo vessels namely M V Bunga Alpine, C V Analips Lady, C V Mare Atlantion, M V Unity, M V ETA Gas and C V CGM Chopin carrying edible oil tankers, diesel oil tankers, containerised cargo, chemical cargo containers and containerised cargo respectively are expected to arrive at Liquid Cargo Terminal, Fotco Oil Terminal, Qasim International Containers Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Qasim International Containers Terminal respectively during the business activity hours on Thursday.
