The Karachi Port handled 149,349 tonnes of cargo including 104,382 tonnes of import, 44,967 tonnes of export cargo and 2,532 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday. The total import cargo of 104,382 tonnes comprised of 11,915 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 6,898 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 2,087 tonnes of sulphur; 13,924 tonnes of coal cargo; 4,600 tonnes of rock phosphate and 64,958 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 44,967 tonnes comprised of 30,480 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 45 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 1,252 tonnes of cement cargo; 6,950 tonnes of loose bulk cement cargo; 5,218 tonnes of rice cargo and 1,022 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
A total number of 1,365 loaded 20' containers and 424 loaded 40' containers are handled during the reported period. While there are 11 unloaded 20' containers and 154 unloaded 40' containers are handled during the business hours on Wednesday. A total number of four cargo vessels namely MOL Wind, Yaran, berthea and Pancaldo carrying oil tankers, containerised cargo, oil tankers and general cargo respectively are sail out to the sea during the business activity hours on Wednesday.
There are total number of five cargo vessels namely United, M T Lahore, Liwa, Pancaldo and Ina Lotte are currently occupying the berth to load/offload general cargo containers, oil tankers, general cargo containers and bulk cargo containers respectively during the reported period of business on Wednesday.
A total number of three cargo vessels namely Oriental Nadeshiko, Liwa and united are expected to sail out to the sea on Wednesday, while there are two more cargo vessels namely Omera-1 and M T Lahore are expected to sail out to the sea on Thursday.
There are four cargo vessels namely Chemway Gaia, Helsinki, Unity and Teamworth No-1 carrying ethanol containers, containerised cargo and general cargo are expected to arrive on Wednesday evening, while a total number of three more cargo vessels namely Maistros, C S L Ride and Chariot carrying mogas containers, containerised cargo and general cargo respectively are expected to arrive during at the business activity hours on Thursday.

PORT QASIM
Port Qasim maintained port's activities of total cargo volume of 72,037 tonnes including 49,042 tonnes of import; 22,995 tonnes of export cargo and the total number of 2,763 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) are handled during the last 24 hours of the business activity on Wednesday at the port.
The total import cargo volume of 49,042 tonnes comprised of 2,850 tonnes of Urea; 11,164 tonnes of chemicals and 35,028 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the business activity hours of the port on Wednesday. The total export cargo volume of 22,995 tonnes, comprised of 22,995 tonnes of containerised cargo is handled during the reported period of activities on Wednesday.
There are only four cargo vessels namely M V Nangin Dragon, M V SeaLand Washington, M V Umm-ad-Dalkh and M V Al-Mutanabbi sailed out to the sea on Wednesday morning from Qasim International Containers Terminal and FAP respectively. A total number of six cargo vessels namely M V Buxhill, M V Sealand Washington, M V Nanjin Dragon, M V Al-Mutanabbi, M V Umm-ad-Dalkh and M T Yamamah and M V Umm-ad-Dalkh are currently occupying the berths to load/offload containerised cargo, Urea containers and chemical cargo respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Wednesday.
There are only two vessels namely M V Ikaruga and ETA Gas carrying containerised cargo and chemicals containers are currently to line up at the outer anchorage to sail out to the sea on Wednesday. A total number of two cargo vessels namely M V Ikaruga and M V Al-Mutanabbi carrying containerised cargo respectively are expected to arrive at Qasim International Containers Terminal during the business activity hours on Wednesday.
