FAISALABAD: Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that government believes in freedom of media as it plays a pivotal role in national development in addition to character building of the generation.

Talking to the media during the inauguration of auditorium of Faisalabad Press Club (FPC), he said the government was providing all necessary facilities to journalists and now it was their responsibility to perform their national obligations with honesty and dedication.

He said the Punjab government had provided Rs 7 million for FPC development project while a grant of Rs 3 million was also sanctioned for FPC canteen on annual basis which would soon be provided.

He further said that a demand of journalists' colony in Faisalabad had also been forwarded to the government which was taking necessary steps in this regard.

He also presented a proposal of establishment journalists' foundation and said the Punjab government would also provide necessary assistance in this regard.

MNA Mian Abdul Mannan, MPA Hajji Elyas Ansari and a large number of journalists including office bearers of FPC were also present on the occasion.
