University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Peshawar organised All Pakistan Inter-Universities Tennis (Men) Championship 2012 in collaboration with Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad. More than 17 teams from different public and private universities across the country participated in the event. The University of Karachi won first position while University of Punjab and the University of Peshawar secured 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
Addressing the prize distribution ceremony, Vice chancellor Imtiaz Gilani said HEC gave importance to sports along with academic activities in the universities, adding that healthy sports activities teach discipline, patience and struggle with team work for common goal. He further said that the universities were trying to promote healthy sports and extra-curricular activities. Later, the vice chancellor along with Director Finance Sarwar Khan and Director Sports Muhammad Ali presented souvenirs to the guests.
