Consul General of United States, William J Martin has said that the US is committed to working with Pakistan to strengthen Pakistan's economy. Speaking at Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) office he further said that the US wanted Pakistan to prosper. He acknowledged that the efforts of KATI members in strengthening bilateral trade ties, adding, "We recognise your efforts to enhance trade ties with the US."
Martin welcomed KATI's efforts to increase business-to-business and people-to-people contacts between the two countries. He expressed his optimism about Pakistan's future, noting that whenever he interacted with Pakistani businessmen he was certain that Pakistan's private sector would take the country on the path to economic growth and prosperity. "I am optimist about the future of Pakistan," he said.
The Consul General had productive discussion with KATI Chairman Ehtesham Uddin, KATI Patron-in-Chief S.M. Muneer President Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum, Mian Zahid Hussain, Chairman KATI's Standing Committee on Diplomatic Affairs, Masood Naqi and other KATI members.
