The unscheduled loadshedding in Gujranwala Electric Power Company (GEPCO) area will end on Tuesday (today) after improvement in power generation, GEPCO Chief Engineer Zakkiuddin said on Monday. He was talking to President Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry Malik Zaheerul Haque who had a meeting with him to discuss the deteriorating electricity supply to the Gujranwala region.
The meeting was also attended by Chief Engineer Amanat Ali Bhatti, Additional Director Customer Services, Chaudhry Manzoor Hussain, S.E. City Zahoor Ahmad Chohan, Former President GCCI, Sheikh Mohammad Aslam, Major Anjum Pervez (Retd), Alhaj Nazeer Ahmad Ansari and other business and trade leaders.
A GEPCO spokesman told Business Recorder that President GCCI Malik Zaheerul Haque complained about discriminatory loadshedding on certain feeders in the city. The GEPCO Chief Engineer assured GCCI delegation that the company would hold impartial inquiry and take legal action against the culprits. The two sides also discussed other matters of mutual interest. It may be added that was set up in 1998 to supply electricity areas of Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat and Mandi Bahauddin districts.
