Chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that the national would not allow the rulers to reopen Nato supply route. Addressing his party's 'Islam Zindabad Conference' here on Sunday, he said that the opposition parties wanted further discussions on the recommendations of Parliamentary Committee on National Security regarding the news terms of engagements with the US and Nato/Isaf.
He further said that there was no military solution to the Afghanistan issue. He said that the government was discussing reopening the Nato supply route with the US, but pretending it to be the decision of Parliament.
The JUI-F chief said that if the government restored the supplies, it would be its own decision and not the Parliament's. He said that the Parliament would not support this decision.
Fazal-ur-Rehman said that the country was blindly following a foreign policy imported from abroad and said that an independent foreign policy can only be devised after economic stability.
He declared that the establishment was hindering enforcement of Shariah. He vowed that JUI would never let the establishment promote the western culture in Pakistan. The JUI-F chief said that many governments came to an end due to rampant corruption, but corruption itself never ended in Pakistan.
