Federal Minister for Professional and Technical Training Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada, after inaugurating the official website of the Ministry of Professional and Technical Training, said that summary for first Pakistan Technical University has been approved that is the biggest achievement to launch professional and vocational education University.
He said that even in India, since their independence, they did not make Technical University until last year and after creation of Ministry of Professional and Technical Training in Pakistan first time, "we have been successful to accomplish the dream."
Federal Minister told the media here on Friday that academic education meant nothing if it could not produce jobs and ultimately youth were led to frustration but now "we are on the way to train 30 million youth technically and professionally." He added that strategy had been formulated according to which training courses and scholarships would be offered, indigenous as well abroad, to make them able to harness their talent for job cultivation.
He said it was bi-pronged strategy in which Pakistani youth would be sent abroad for training and foreign highly qualified Pakistanis as well foreigner trainers would be called here to train the youth. He said that on commercial and trade side "we are calling experts from Turkish, Russian, African and Arab countries for mining, gems cutting, exploration of minerals, leather tanning etc, adding that for this purpose memorandums of understanding had been signed with those countries besides European Union. Federal Secretary Qamar Zaman Chaudhary and Minister of State for Professional and Technical Training Sardar Shah Jehan Yousuf also spoke on the occasion.-PR
