Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that awareness has been created about dengue among the people due to constant efforts of the government and full cooperation of media. He expressed the hope that they will overcome this disease through the joint efforts of government, people and media.
He expressed these views while talking to media on Friday after inaugurating marathon race held to create awareness against dengue among the masses. He said the government and people are fully alert and concrete measures have been taken for eradicating dengue.
He expressed the hope that the dengue situation will remain under control during current year and we will not have to face situation of previous year. At the end of marathon race, Khawaja Saad Rafique, PML-N, MNA, appreciated the office bearers of Pakistan Medical Association Punjab, representatives of private companies manufacturing mosquito killer chemicals and civil society for their active participation in the marathon race.
He said they have fulfilled their national responsibilities by supplementing the efforts of the government against dengue. "All people belonging to medical profession had saved thousands of lives by working round the clock during dengue attack last year. Besides dengue, we have also to launch a crusade against corruption and injustice and eliminate these evils from the society," he added.
