Suicide attack at mosque in Khyber Agency kills 13

A suicide bomber blew himself up outside a mosque on Friday, at the time of Juma congregation, killed 13 people. The militants associated with banned outfit Lashkar-e-Islam (LI) in Tirah Valley of Khyber Agency bordering Afghanistan, political authorities said. Eight militants of Lashkar-e-Islam included among the dead.
The official source said the bomber was planting the remote control bomb in the premises of Dars Jumaat when he was identified by the LI extremists and opened fire and killed him while he was fleeing. But in the meantime, he pressed the remote control in his hand, detonating the explosive materials with big bang. The LI Markaz was run by Yar Walil Khan Nephew of head of banned outfit Mangal Bagh. Yar Wali Khan is still missing while filing of this report.
The same mosque was targeted by the rival militant group on February 18, 2010 and at least 30 people were killed including an important commander of LI and more than 70 were injured. The similar attack at another Lashkar-e-Islam mosque in Tirah killed 22 people and wounded another 20 after Friday prayers on March 2, 2012.
