The Karachi Port handled 93,499 tonnes of cargo including 50,571 tonnes of import, 42,928 tonnes of export cargo and 1,981 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during the last 24 hours of business activities ended at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargo of 50,571 tonnes comprised 5,695 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 2,376 tonnes of canola oil and 42,500 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 42,928 tonnes comprised of 28,116 tonnes of total containerised cargo; 135 tonnes of b bulk cargo; 3,739 tonnes of cement cargo; 3,008 tonnes of loose bulk cement; 3,606 tonnes of talcum powder and 4,324 tonnes of rice cargo. There is only one vessel namely M T Quetta is currently at the berths to load/offload liquid cargo tankers during the reported business hours at Karachi Port on Thursday. There are four vessels namely Tai Assa, Sydney, M T Quetta and Fortune East are expected to sail out to the sea after loading/offloading cargos on Friday.
There is only one vessel namely Lodestar Genesis is expected to arrive on Thursday during the business activity hours at the port. While a total number seven more cargo vessels namely Oriental Acacia, Oriental Kerria, Y M Taichung, APL Brisbane, APL Guangzhou, Kota Anggerik and Samanta carrying chemical, ethanol, containerised cargo and steel coil respectively are expected to arrive on Friday.
The total import cargo volume comprised of 55,999 tonnes including 35,461 tonnes of furnace oil and 20,538 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the business activity hours of the port. The total export cargo volume comprised of 41,015 tonnes including 1,925 tonnes of cement; 576 tonnes of wheat and 38,514 tonnes of containerised cargo are handled during the reported period of the activity hours on Thursday.
A total number of four cargo vessels namely ACX Margurite, M V Mercy Wisdom, M V CGM Rossini and M V Hiba Al Nour-B carrying containerised cargo, wheat cargo containers and containerised cargo sailed out to the sea from Qasim International Container Terminal, FAP, Qasim International Container Terminal and MW-4 on Thursday.
There are six vessels namely M V Levina, M V Asir, M V CGM Rossini, M V ACX Margurite, M V Hiba Al Nour-B, M V Mercy Wisdom and M V Qubaa are currently occupying the berths of to load/offload containerised cargo, cement cargo, wheat cargo and furnace oil tankers respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Thursday.
A total number of three vessels namely Uni Corn Emerald, Saigon Express and Nele Maersk carrying wheat cargo and loaded cargo containers respectively are currently to line up at the outer anchorage on Thursday. A total number of thee vessels namely Nele Express, Saigon Express and Uni Corn Emerald are scheduled to load/offload containerised cargo and wheat cargo respectively, are expected to take berths at Qasim International Container Terminal and FAP respectively on Thursday during the business activity hours at the port.
