Prices move up in slow business on grain market

Upward trend was seen on the wholesale grain market on Thursday ahead of Pakistan Day holiday on 23 March,2012 dealers said. On the rice sector Irri-6 Sindh low type gained Rs 25 to Rs 3525 and good type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 3600, other items maintained overnight levels in process of slow trading, they said.
On the seed counter cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low quality did not move any side at Rs 500 while the best quality was up by Rs 50 to Rs 800 due to slight improvement in demand, they said. Other sectors, cereal and grams maitained the overnight rates amid slow trading, they said.
