Pak-Oman Student Exchange Programme: Sultan Qaboos university, UAF to work together

Omani Ambassador to Pakistan, Mohamed Said Allawati on Saturday said that Student Exchange Programme between Sultan Qaboos University, Oman and the University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) will be revived and strengthen to get the benefits from each other experiences.
He was addressing the Deans Committee at Syndicate Room. He said the step will also boost up collaboration to fight the challenges confronting both countries. The scientists of UAF are working on different projects in Oman to boosting up their agricultural sector.
He added that medicinal and oil extracts were being made value added in France but due to help of UAF scientists, his country will be able to get the value-added extracts on his own land. He said that Pakistan and Oman were enjoying good relations on the face of common values, culture and brotherhood. He also stressed the need to more strengthening the ties in different sectors to work together on the similar issues. He also praised Pakistan for being friendly, hardworking and talented people who are proving their mettle in different fields.
Professor Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that he had lived in Oman for many years and he found the people of the country loving, caring and talented. He said that UAF was the best university of the country in agriculture in the country according to Higher Education Commission while also standing among top universities in other categories. He said that citation of the university had risen to 3,248 in 2011 while it was 2,045 in 2010 that was one of factors to determine ranking of the university. He said that the university had introduced 15 new degree programmes in a span of four years in order to produce manpower in various areas.
