The Karachi Port handled 91,490 tonnes of cargo comprising1 71,071 tonnes of import cargo and 20,419 tonnes of export cargo including 4,101 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 71,071 tonnes comprised of 34,606 tonnes of containerised cargo; 372 tonnes of general cargo; 29,093 tonnes of bulk cargo: 17,000 tonnes of coal; 7,238 tonnes of canola seeds; 4,855 tonnes of DAP and 7,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 20,419 tonnes comprised of 18,490 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,929 tonnes of bulk cargo: 118 tonnes of wheat and 1,445 tonnes of rice. Six ships namely Tessa, Santa Belina, Bow Victor, Chemroute Sky, Mediterranean Highway and Sunset with two container ships, two oil tankers, one vehicles carrier and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Seven vessels viz Felicitas Rickmers, Lt. Trieste, APL Brisbane, Nadeem, Avra, Mediterranean Highway and Alam Bakti with three container ships, two bulk cargo ships, one oil tanker and one car carrier respectively are currently at the berths.
Two ships namely APL Brisbane and Topaz-II carrying one container ship and one coal carrier respectively sailed out to sea on Friday, while four ships namely Felicitas Rickmers, Lt. Trieste, Spar Orion and Pacific Embolden with two container ships, one coal carrier and one DAP carrier are expected to sail on Saturday.
Two vessels viz APL Sharjah and OOCL Dalian with two container ships due to arrive on Friday, while four vessels viz Greenwich Bridge, Sea Miror, Se Pelagica and Azalea Galaxy with one container ship, one coal carrier, one project cargo ship and one base oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 78,789 tonnes, comprising 56,794 tonnes of import cargo and 21,995 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,393 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 56,794 tonnes includes 26,329 tonnes of furnace oil; 11,500 tonnes of canola seeds; 651 tonnes of bitumen; 5,210 tonnes of chemicals and 13,104 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo of 21,995 tonnes includes 1,578 tonnes of wheat; 4,268 tonnes of cement and 16,149 tonnes of containerised cargo.
Four ships namely CV CMA CGM Verdi, CV Nora Maersk, MT Karachi and MT Asphalt Merchant with containers, furnace oil and bituman sailed out to sea on Friday morning. A total number of eight ships namely CV CMA CGM Verdi, CV Nora Maersk, MV Seagull-D, MV Hiba Al-Nour-B, MV Mercy Wisdom, MV Ikan Bayan, MT Asphalt Merchant and MT Harsandi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, canola seeds, bitumen, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. A container ship namely New Delhi Express is currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. One vessel viz CV New Delhi Express with containers is expected to take berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Friday.
