The Swiss franc came off a two-month low it hit against the euro on Thursday as investors bet the Swiss National Bank was unlikely to try to weaken the currency further when it holds its quarterly monetary policy meeting on Thursday. The franc fell to 1.2146 against the euro late on Wednesday, its lowest level since January 10 as some market players speculated the SNB might try to shift the floor it set on the currency at 1.20 per euro to weaken it further.
But the franc recovered some ground early on Thursday, trading up 0.1 percent compared to the New York close at 1.2116 per euro at 0713 GMT. The franc was also up 0.3 percent against the dollar at 0.9282.
