SU holds Naat competition

The Bureau of Students Tutorial, Guidance/Counselling Services and Co-curricular Activities (STAGS) University of Sindh organised inter-department Naat Competition at Shaikh Ayaz Auditorium of the Faculty of Arts on Wednesday. 37 students from various teaching Institute and departments presented Naat in competition.
Acting Vice Chancellor Dr Parveen Shah was the chief guest and distributed cash awards among the winners. She appreciated that the STGAS was playing its due role in organising co-curricular activities to provide healthy atmosphere to the University students. She said that apart from education the co-curricular activities were also essential for the students in order to promote their talent. She appreciated students and teachers for resuming academic activities, and asked students to engage themselves in study and also in co-curricular activities and advised them to help the University by maintaining educational atmosphere at the campus.
Dean Faculty of Social Sciences Dr Abida Tahrani also expressed her views. STAGS Advisor Bureau Professor Muhammad Yousuf Pardesi said the STGAS was collecting data of the talented students of the University to engage them different co-curricular activities, adding STAGS had set-up a debate society. In Naat competition special cash prize of Rs 2,000 was awarded to Sanjay Kumar, student of Institute of English Language and Literature for presenting Naat.
While first prize was won by Hafiz Nooman Raza, student of the department of Arabic, second prize was won by Ume Sahar of the Faculty of Education, third prize won by Ubedaiullah Haidri of Persian Department and fourth consolation prize was given to Nasir Abbas, student of Arabic department.
