Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Karachi centre will hold the 27th Multi Topic Symposium here on March 14 and 15. The symposium will be inaugurated by the Provincial Minister for Information and Electric Power Shazia Marri. Keynote address on "Energy crisis in Pakistan and the role renewable can play to improve the situation" will be presented by Adrian K. Wood, Regional Director of the Renewable Energy Division for Siemens in the Middle East.
The two-day seminar will have four technical sessions in which prominent experts will deliver presentations on a host of topics ranging from "Fixed network automatic meter", "Computer aided dimension of power distribution system", Electric power deficit-stop it from becoming a way of life", "Energy crisis in Pakistan and unconventional solutions", "Towards alternative wind power policy", "Electronic based visual aids for blind" and "Best selection of UPS system with optimised Investment".
To provide encouragement and exposure to student talent three winners of the student seminar will be asked to present their papers at this international forum. This session will be presided over by Engr.A.R. Memon, Dean Hamdard University. On the concluding day there will be a panel discussion on "Existing Engineering Expertise is enough to solve present energy crisis". Chairman of this panel discussion will be Engr. Tahir Basharat Cheema, President IEEEP and will be anchored by Engr. Parkash Lohana.
In the closing session recommendations of the 27th International Multi Topic Symposium will be presented for approval by the delegates and sent to policy makers for further discussions and adoption. These recommendations will address the pressing problems facing the country in the field of electrical and electronics engineering and offer viable solutions. The chief guest at this session will be Ali Hamdani, CEO Siemens Pakistan.-PR
