Fourth parliamentary year: Punjab Assembly passes 50 bills, says Rana Sanaullah

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah while addressing a press conference on the completion of 4th parliamentary year of Punjab Assembly has said that the assembly passed 50 bills during the year. He said that as many as 2837 questions were put before the Assembly, out of which 1645 were answered. After the passage of 18th amendment, Punjab Assembly has increased time span of a parliamentary year to 100days, he added.
Sanaullah said as many as 13 bills presented in the Assembly during the parliamentary year were still pending with the concerned Committees. Speaking about general discussion in the House, he said that opposition role in this regard was not encouraging. He stated that on a single day, quorum was pointed out for 18 times.
He said constant lack of quorum pointed out opposition had impacted the performance of Punjab Assembly. About Mehrangate scandal, he said that the issue had been raised at a time when PML-N was planing to launch protest movement against federal government corruption. The minister spoke about the role of agencies in country's politics. He said all political parties should get united to end the role of agencies in politics.
