Suicide blast at funeral kills 15

At least fifteen people were killed and more than thirty injured in a suicide attack on funeral prayer in Badabir, a suburban locality of the provincial metropolis of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday. According to the police and eye-witnesses, the explosion occurred soon after the funeral prayer for a local woman was offered. Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Chairman, respectively.
Election of Bokhari and Baloch is sure, as the ruling Khushdil Khan Advocate was also attending the funeral prayer, however he remained unhurt.
After the explosion, the local police and rescue teams rushed to the venue and started relief operation. The injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH), Peshawar where the condition of five was stated to be critical.
The police confirmed that it was a suicide attack and about eight kilogram explosive material was used in the blast. The police found the parts of suicide jacket, ball-bearings and body parts of the suspected suicide bomber from the spot. It was second such attack on funeral prayer in Adezai area, which had claimed more than 40 lives.
The provincial government has announced a compensation amount of Rs 0.3 million for the heirs of each deceased and Rs 0.1 million for the each injured. The Governor, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Masood Kausar has condemned the Badabir suicide explosion as an inhuman act.
In a statement issued here from Governor's House, he has expressed condolence with the heirs of those died in the incident and prayed for the early recovery of the injured. He said that terrorists had no religion and they were targeting innocent and unarmed people. He said that terrorists would be brought to justice at any cost.
Meanwhile, the central president, ANP, Asfandyar Wali Khan condemned suicide attack on funeral prayer gathering in Badabir and said that those carrying suicide attacks could not be called human beings as they were wild animals.
Expressing condolence with the families of the deceased, he said the elements involved in such heinous acts were neither human beings nor Muslims. He said that they condemned the incident and called for joint battle of all political forces against the terrorism.
The provincial president, ANP, Senator Afrasiab Khan Khattak also expressed sorrow over the loss of human lives in Badabir suicide explosion.
