Earthquake tremors felt in different cities of Pakistan

An earthquake of magnitude of 6.1 on the richter scale jolted different cities and northern parts Pakistan on Wednesday afternoon.
According to local media reports, the earthquake tremors were felt areas including Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Abbottabad, Swat, Gilgit, Hunza, Skardu, Chitral, Gujranwala and Sargodha. People rushed out of their homes in panic after they felt the earthquake shocks.
In Bela town of Lasbela, a minor girl has reportedly been killed while nine others were injured as the roof of a house collapsed. State buildings, including the Supreme Court and Parliament, were also evacuated as the tremors struck.
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also directed aid agencies to remain alert.

The epicentre of the quake was located 35 kilometres south of Jarm, on Afghanistan-Tajikistan Border Region, at a depth of 191.2 kilometres, per the United States Geological Survey. The tremors were felt in Hindu Kush Region, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Eastern Uzbekistan and India.
