Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 143,865 tonnes of cargo comprising1 107,636 tonnes of import cargo and 36,229 tonnes of export cargo including 3,868 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 107,636 tonnes comprised of 24,715 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,567 tonnes of general cargo; 32,201 tonnes of bulk cargo: 31,755 tonnes of coal; 5,890 tonnes of canola seeds; 446 tonnes of wheat and 49,153 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. The total export cargo of 36,229 tonnes comprised of 34,830 tonnes of containerised cargo; 116 tonnes of general cargo and 1,283 tonnes of cement.
Three container ships namely Bunga Raya Lapan, MOL Bravery and Abdul Aziz Arab sailed out to sea during the reported period. Four vessels viz CS Discovery, Sea Gul-D, Star Sea Breeze and Maetiga with one container ship, one wheat carrier, one coal carrier and one oil tanker respectively are currently at the berths.
Five ships namely MT Lahore, Maetiga, Hyundai Highness, Galveston and Noble Coral with two oil tankers, one container ship, one coal carrier and one general cargo ship respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely CS Discovery and Sea Merchant with one container ship and one cement carrier respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Five vessels viz Lucky Lady-I, Captain Adam, Abdul Latif S, Ocean Felicity and Topaz-II with one base oil tanker, one rock phosphate ship, one cement carrier, one general cargo ship and one wheat carrier respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while five vessels viz UASC Sharjah, Olivia, Rio Bravo, Tabernacle Pronce and Aristea-M with three container ships and two cement carriers respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIMA cargo volume of 32,162 tonnes, comprising 29,636 tonnes of import cargo and 2,526 tonnes of export cargo was handled at Port Qasim during last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 29,636 tonnes includes 22,631 tonnes of furnace oil; 4,005 tonnes of urea and 3,000 tonnes of chemicals.
The total export cargo includes 2,526 tonnes of rice. Two ships namely MT Qubaa and Anette Kosan sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely MV Arrilah is expected to sail on the same day afternoon. A total number of four ships namely CV Safmarine Ngami, CV Hanjin Elizabeth, MV Florida-II, MV MSC Maria, MT Chem Road Vega, MT Athina, MV Lion, MV Arrilah, Anette Kosan and MT Qubaa are currently occupying berths to load/offload rice, urea, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
As many as five ships namely Hanjin Malta, CGM Mozart, Estia, Eurosea and Maganari with containers, diesel oil, furnace oil and canola seeds respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of two container vessels viz CV Hanjin Malta and CV CGM Mozart are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal on Tuesday.
