With a view to promoting interaction between management professionals of Pakistan and India, the apex management bodies of Pakistan and India ie Management Association of Pakistan (MAP) and All India Management Association (AIMA) signed a MoU, on the occasion of 56th Foundation Day of AIMA, on 21 February 2012 at New Delhi.
The MoU, signed by President MAP Kamal Chinoy and President AIMA Rajiv Vastupal, aims at promoting co-operation between the two organisations for exchanging information and adding value to each other with a view to raising the professional competence of institutions and individuals in the two countries. Both the organisations have agreed to leverage resources to promote, facilitate and support development of professional management in the two countries and to share and transfer best practices, experiences and ideas on sound management principles and practices.
Speaking on the agenda "Towards Sustainable Business & Society", Kamal Chinoy highlighted the role played by the corporate sector of Pakistan in treating environment as an integral part of the business and the initiative taken by the government in this regard. He emphasised that there was a renewed keenness on the part of Pakistani corporate sector towards reporting business sustainability in their annual reports, which would set a new trend towards awareness on this important issue.
AIMA's Foundation day conference was presided by Kamal Nath, India's Union Minister for Urban Development and included luminaries like Anand G Mahindra, Vice Chairman & MD Mahindra & Mahindra who received AIMA-JRD Tata Corporate Leadership Award, Ashok Ganguly former Chairman Hindustan Unilever Ltd, who received AIMA Lifetime Achievement award are, D Shivakumar Sr. Vice President AIMA & Nokia India, Middle East & Africa, R, Mukundan Managing Director Tata Chemicals Ltd and many others.-PR
