Admiral M Nishat Rafi (Retd) has announced to join Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He made this announcement while addressing a news conference at MQM headquarters Nine Zero here on Thursday. Members MQM Co-ordination Committee also accompanied him.
Speaking to the news conference, Admiral M Nishat Rafi (Retd) said he examined the character and actions of a number of political parties and studied their manifestos and reached on the conclusion that Altaf Hussain, founder and leader of the MQM, was the only leader of the country who was following the philosophy of "Realism and Practicalism" of his party with honesty and sincerity.
He said MQM chief could bring internal and external stability in the country and open the paths of progress and development that would be the true realisation of the dreams of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Liaquat Ali Khan and Allama Iqbal. He believed that MQM was the only political party in the country that had raised its voice against the feudal system in the country. He said Altaf Hussain had always expressed positive views about the stability of the country and strengthening democracy even in the face of extreme hardships and state repression.
Admiral M Nishat Rafi (Retd) has served in Pakistan Navy and was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz (military) by government of Pakistan. He had also been ex-member of Federal Public Service commission (Islamabad). He obtained a certification Professionalism Performance Excellence in Public Services from Public Administration Institute in UK.
