Taiwan stocks move up

Taiwan stocks closed up 2.07 percent on Friday, with construction and financial shares among the top gainers after the government said it would not set a time limit on a state fund's action in supporting the market. The main TAIEX index rose 144.38 points to 7,110.73, after opening 0.99 percent. Construction and banks rose over 4 percent.
The government said National Financial Stabilisation Fund had stepped in on Wednesday and Thursday. Electronics shares climbed 1.6 percent, lifted by Apple suppliers after reports that they will ask staff not to take holidays over the lunar new year to meet demand for the new iPad 3. Touch panel makers TPK Holding and Wintek were both limit-up. Hon Hai gained 1.1 percent.
